Car Hire: There are many car hire companies at all airports that you can book in advance. Please note it is a legal requirement in Italy that all vehicles have either snow tyres or snow chains. Please check this with the car hire company. Try a broker like Rhinocarhire as they usually offer the best deals.
Driving: We suggest that you have some change available for the motorway tolls, from Turin to Bardonecchia these are approximately €12 one-way. If travelling from Chambery you will need to pass through the Frejus tunnel which is also a toll road. Travel by car from Calais or Dunkerque to the chalet takes approximately 10 hours. Please check that you have all the legally required safety items when driving through France and Italy.
Public Transport: Thanks to new high-speed trains Bardonecchia is accessible from London in just one day. Take the Eurostar from St. Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford to Paris Gare du Nord and then the TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Bardonecchia. The Sadem Bus company runs buses from directly outside Turin Caselle Airport to Porta Nuova station where you can catch the train to Bardonecchia. The bus journey takes approximately 40 minutes and the train journey 1 hour 20 minutes. Please look at www.trenitalia.it for more information. Terravision also offer a bus shuttle service between Turin Caselle Airport and Porta Nuova. This takes approximately 30 minutes.
Alternatively there is a bus company that offers transfers directly from Turin Airport to Bardonecchia Train Station from €34 one-way, with group discounts available for 10 or more people. Please look at www.cavourese.it for more information.
